About the Product:

As colds and flu decline, a different attack of sneezes, sniffles and watery eyes are on the way for some… Tree pollens hit early, some even in January but for 95% of hayfever sufferers it’s late May until August that symptoms really take hold, especially on dry, warmdays.

Be prepared: Starting 4-6 weeks before symptoms are expected, try the isopathic approach. This means treating the condition with a minute amount of the substance causing the problem, and for that we have Mixed pollen 30C. This mixture of air-borne pollens - Grasses, Cereals,Weeds and Early and Mid blossoming trees - is prepared homeopathically.

Try Rhinodoron Nasal Spray with Aloe vera gel to help clear, moisturise and soothe a nose left sore from sneezing and blowing. Rhinodoron Nasal Spray is safe to use on a regular basis and can be used from the age of 3 months upwards and throughout pregnancy.

Tip: Shower as soon as you’re home to remove pollen from hair and skin.

HELP FOR HAY FEVER. Q. Our whole family suffers from hay fever. Is there something natural we can all use?

A. Hay fever and allergies often run in families. Tree pollens are among the first pollens of the year to cause trouble, closely followed by grass pollens from May onwards. Weleda’s Hayfever Kit (rrp £10.45) combines two natural solutions to common symptoms in one pack. The first is Mixed Pollen (125 tablets; rrp £6.95 if bought separately), a homeopathic mixture of common airborne pollens (mixed grasses, tree and weed pollens). The general advice is to start this four to six weeks before symptoms are expected. This may help to reduce the allergic-type response experienced on exposure to pollens. Combine this with Rhinodoron Nasal Spray (20ml; rrp £6.50 if bought separately) made with moisturising aloe vera, for a cleaning and soothing effect. It is suitable for all the family, can be used in children from three months of age, as well as throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding.

SPORTS FIRST AID KIT. Q. In the spirit of the 2012 Olympics, my partner and I are starting a fitness drive. We are putting together a sports kit to treat any niggles naturally. Any suggestions?

A. Massage oils are perfect for your programme. Try Arnica Massage Balm (rrp £10.50, 100ml) for aching muscles, backache, cramp and minor injuries. Arnica is a natural anti-inflammatory and the warmth of the massage will ease stiffness and pain. A hot bath is great for tired limbs, and Weleda’s Chestnut Soothing Bath Soak (rrp £9.50, 200ml) also contains arnica to loosen taut muscles. Arnica Ointment (rrp £6.50, 25g) is useful for sprains and bruises, and Arnica 6x Tablets (rrp £8.50, 100 tablets) are handy for minor accidents if you take a tumble.

As with all medicines, always read the label and consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
