The Health Store Magazine, Sept/Oct 2011. Feature: What’s the Alternative? Loraine Murry, Weleda Body Therapy Adviser, answers your questions about natural health. What they say? SHAVING RELIEF Q My husband gets a rash with quite a few shaving foams, and I wondered if you had any advice? A They may not like the idea, but men can get sensitive skin too! Although their skin is thicker and generally more resilient than women’s, it can still react to the stress of shaving, which strips out moisture and can cause irritation. Blunt or dirty razor blades are also frequently a cause of rashes and nicks. Many men find they are sensitive to synthetic ingredients such as the foam boosters and synthetic detergents commonly found in shaving products, and the artificial perfumes they contain can also cause problems. We have been making natural products for men since the 1920s, and I recommend that your husband tries our gentle Weleda Shaving Cream (75ml), which is based on pure vegetable soap and natural oils to produce a creamy lather, together with soothing sweet almond milk and organic goat’s milk to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is free from any synthetic detergents, foam boosters and artificial additives.
