We currently have one vacancy for a Gardener.
Weleda is the leading producer of natural and sustainable health and holistic beauty products globally.
In the UK, we grow many different plant species at our 15 acre herb gardens in Derbyshire, in a variety of habitats including field rotations, bed systems, meadows, woodland and pond. We cultivate our land using Biodynamic methods in compliance with our Demeter Certification. The Garden Team grow, harvest and prepare the medicinal plants, which are then made into effective treatments in our Production Department. We also maintain, and are currently developing, the grounds around our Head Office site.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent Gardener to join our small team, to work at our UK manufacturing base in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
Reporting to the Garden Manager, you will have plenty of professional horticultural experience, ideally with some vocational qualifications (up to at least Level 2). You will be an all-rounder, with competence in all areas of horticultural practice including the use of garden machinery and tractors. Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Biodynamics and we would also hope that you have an interest in cultivating and processing medicinal plants. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic and be able to assist in the supervision of our Seasonal Gardeners, supporting and helping them to make the most of their time with us. You’ll have a flexible and reliable attitude, be able to undertake work of a physical nature and possess a full driving license.
This position is offered on a full time basis, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, although flexibility is required and some occasional weekend work may be necessary. This post is expected to commence early in 2014 but it is envisaged that interviews will be held this year.
