Financial Controller/Management Financial Support

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Financial Controller to take the controlling/accounting function to a new level within Weleda. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will be working closely with all areas of the business to build and support financial knowledge and understanding and provide valuable input to the decision making process.

This role reports in to the Directors and key responsibilities will include:-

  • Delivering timely and high quality month-end management accounts, cash flow reports and variance analyses
  • Produce management information for the Weleda Group
  • Work with the sales teams to develop procedures to maximise profitability
  • Close involvement in the strategic planning of the business
  • Develop and manage the costing processes
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements, statutory accounts and journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Responsibility for Fixed Asset registers and depreciation calculations
  • Manage audit preparation and liaison with Auditors
  • Manage bank accounts and foreign currency accounts/transfers and bank reconciliations
  • Manage and supervise the sales and purchase ledger and credit control
  • Develop systems to improve procedures and tighten controls at every stage of sales and purchase processing as well as improving access and visibility of the business finances for all Managers, particularly budget management.

The successful candidate will have strong all-round general controlling/accounting knowledge and have experience of a SME manufacturing organisation. Ideally, you will be qualified or part qualified in a recognised financial body, preferably ACCA or CIMA. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others and you will be confident in explaining complex financial information to non-financial Managers. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a flexible approach are a pre-requisite in this hands-on role. Proficiency in MS Office is essential and knowledge of Navision Dynamics would be an advantage.
