The judging panel included Essentials editor Jules Barton-Breck, beauty editor Sarah Cooper-White, the editor of Hair magazine Louise White, and professional hair and make-up artist Charlotte Foster-Brown.

As the panel explains: It’s the third annual Essentials beauty awards and we’ve tried out over a thousand products to bring you the very best buys that really are worth spending your hard-earned cash on - because as you know, cheap doesn’t always mean great value.

The Essentials awards scheme was launched in 2007 when Weleda’s fragrant Wild Rose Body Lotion was voted Best No-Guilt Eco-Chic Body Lotion. In 2008, recognising increasing interest amongst their readers for natural and environmentally-friendly products, Essentials introduced the new Eco-Friendly category to their awards, saying enthusiastically about Weleda:
