Natural Health Beauty Awards 2011

Exciting news Weleda has just landed no less than 6 awards!

Weleda has continued to deliver outstanding value for money without compromising quality, and it is particularly timely that the range has been announced as the winner of Best Value Range in the Natural Health Beauty Awards 2011. Having won this award twice previously, Weleda proves truly unbeatable for value.

They said ‘And the winner is… Weleda. This enduringly popular range, established over 90 years ago, ticks all the right holistic boxes. Of Weleda’s plant-based raw materials 62 per cent are cultivated in controlled organic and biodynamic environments or are obtained from controlled wild sources.’

Weleda uses around 1,000 natural raw materials for its pharmaceutical products and natural cosmetics. All around the world, Weleda promotes biodiversity and supports certified organic and socially sustainable cultivation projects. 62% of the plant-based raw materials come from controlled organic or biodynamic cultivation, or are obtained from certified wild sources. The certified organic content in Weleda cosmetics overall has risen from 62% in 2008, to 69% in 2009 and to 74% in 2010. So actually better than was quoted!

This year Weleda was also Highly Commended in the new Readers Choice Award, as well as scooping several individual product awards.

Weleda’s new Almond Soothing Facial Care is fragrance-free specially for skin that is drier or more sensitive than usual, and anyone prone to allergies or dermatitis. The new collection was Highly Commended in the category Best Eczema range.

Made from organic sweet almond oil and antioxidant-rich plum kernel oil, this range is nourishing and replenishing, helping sensitive skin feel cozy and comforted. It helps reduce skin irritation and feelings of itchiness, and contains a system of five mix-and-match skincare basics that offer flexibility for sensitive, dry or very dry skin.

Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion (75ml) is an extra mild cleanser for sensitive and unbalanced skin, recently Highly Commended in the Best Cleansers category of the Natural Health Beauty Awards.

Weleda’s almond oil is cold-pressed from precious organic crops grown in Spain, from orchards sprawling over 100,000 acres of the Valencian countryside where a cooperative of farmers, passionate about organics, yield 3,000 tons of top quality almonds.

For those who enjoy a luxurious fragrance, Weleda’s new Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Care collection is formulated for women in their thirties, with a system of 6 products made with Rosa mosqueta oil to protect, revitalise, deep-nourish and help prevent those very first fine lines appearing prematurely. Weleda’s rose oil is pressed from the rosehip seeds of bushes that grow abundantly and organically at the foot of the Andes where environmental pollution is minimal. The ripe hips are gathered sustainably, by certified collection.

Wild Rose Smoothing Masque (30ml) is a harmonising, intensive care masque to help tired skin improve its natural moisture balance and restore a rosy radiance to dull complexions. This multi-award winning masque was again voted a Winner in the category Best Face Masks of the Natural Health Beauty Awards.

If you are hoping to get those tricky areas looking their best before you bare all on the beach, you’ll be delighted to discover Weleda’s Birch Cellulite Oil (100ml) was also a winner, in the category Best Cellulite Zapper.

Weleda’s Birch Cellulite Oil is 100% natural, contains no artificial preservatives or additives, and is specially formulated to tone and firm skin, and tackle those orange peel dimples on thighs and hips. It’s made from organic silver birch (Betula alba) grown in South Bohemia (the Czech Republic) and gathered from certified collection. The tender young birch leaves contain valuable flavanoids which encourage secretion or elimination processes to flush out toxins and restore skin radiance.

All in all, a vintage crop of award winning products to support you through the summer months!
