The excitement was palpable. For months it was known Skin Food was competing with numerous big name brands and iconic products for the UK Beauty Awards Best Classic Product. The short list was compiled by beauty industry professionals, then put to public vote. Thank you if you voted. Skin Food won Silver, pipped to the post only by Gold winner YSLTouche Eclat,and beating huge brands including Revlon, Olay, Elizabeth Arden, Maybelline and L’Oreal.

The awards were presented at Clothes Show London by Erin O’Connor and George Lamb. Shortly before Erin had rushed onto our stand to quick-fix some dryness on her legs with Skin Food. We had a stand at the show to launch the new 30ml travel size Skin Food

Other visitors to Weleda’s stand included fashion’s high priestess Caryn Franklin, a longstanding Weleda fan (her favourite being the Wild Rose range), and Nicky Hambleton-Jones (who for five years presented the TV makeover show '10 Years Younger') chatted with Weleda’s Karin Calladine, and told her that her father had used her Citrus Creamy Body Wash and loved it so much he went out to buy some for himself. We’re expecting more celebrity fans soon, as fashion/beauty stars in the awards audience received VIP goodie bags containing Skin Food and other ‘winners’.
