Full Time Gardener

We’re looking for a Gardener to join our small, dedicated garden team based at our 13 acre site in Shipley.

In our extensive gardens we work with nature to grow many different medicinal plants and manage the land to encourage strong biodiversity, both to help protect the environment and complement the health of our crops. The crops range from trees like Birch and Thuja, shrubs and hedgerow bushes like Blackthorn and Hawthorn, field crops of Calendula, Oats and Chamomile, plus smaller quantities of herbs, wild flowers, vegetables and weeds. Harvested amounts can vary from 1 - 200kg!   Some plants are grown in beds, others are grown extensively in meadows or in our woodland edges. We are completely organic, using Biodynamic methods with Demeter certification.

As well as sowing, planting, weeding and making compost, the garden team also do the harvesting and making of fresh plant tinctures, following strict Good Manufacturing Practice and growing according to Good Agricultural and Collection Practices.  The garden team also help to deliver garden events and carry out garden tours.

The hours of work will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday along with weekend watering through the growing season. This is a permanent full time position commencing in January 2021.

Experience of Biodynamic/Organic gardening methods, plant propagation, use of garden machinery would all be of benefit. We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm and interest in Biodynamics, medicinal herbs and gardening with nature.
