A message from Jayn Sterland and the Weleda Team

We wanted to reassure you all that at Weleda we are doing our best to support you and your loved ones in these challenging times, with great advice and effective medicines, as we have been for almost a hundred years.

To do this we have had to make some difficult decisions. We have cancelled our extensive summer programme of festivals, visits and events, and reassigned co-workers across the business to ensure continued manufacture and supply of our most important medicines and natural remedies, so they’ll remain available as and when you need them, either through your local pharmacy or via our online store. These include products for boosting immune support, easing ‘flu-like symptoms and coughs, and aiding convalescence and recovery, as well as restorative bath milks, soaps and hand creams to care for hard working hands.

We are also prioritising protecting our community of co-workers to enable this to happen. This has meant splitting up teams who have worked together for over twenty years into different shift patterns to reduce the risk of everyone becoming ill – all very challenging - and I know they would love to hear from you.

We will do our utmost to keep our production, warehouse and website running so we can get the products you need delivered to your door. We have plenty of stock to last us over the coming months and our traditional herbal and homeopathic medicines are made here at our Derbyshire head office from our own plants grown in our biodynamic gardens, so we don’t expect to run out anytime soon!

We are also trying hard to support NHS staff working in critical care units around the country, by providing effective creams to replenish and repair hands that are suffering from so much washing and harsh hand sanitisers. Plus soothing, healing balms for skin stressed by the extended wearing of PPE facemasks. What an amazing job our frontline healthcare workers are doing.

As a company founded on the principle of working with nature to support health and wellbeing, this remains our purpose and we will keep you up to date with ways of supporting your immune system, how to manage symptoms if you become unwell, and which products can help get you back on your feet more quickly. All the latest updates will be shared through our emails and social media channels, or you could just call us if you are self-isolating because our wonderful customer care team are here to help you anytime from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0115 944 8200.

If you are lucky enough to have a garden at home, do try to find time to get outside in nature, even if it’s just for a few minutes. If you don't have a garden, try and find a moment to open the windows for a breath of fresh air, enjoy a cuppa on the back doorstep, or add a bunch of daffodils to your food shop, just to feel a sense of connection with the natural world. There is something so comforting and reassuring about seeing the arrival of Spring; nature is recovering and so will we.

Take care and stay well.

Love from Jayn and the Weleda team x
